Pre and postnatal depression
support services |
Would you like to help create a place of hope, healing and reassurance for mothers or fathers affected by pre or postnatal depression (PND) and/or anxiety? We are always looking for volunteers who feel passionate about supporting families to join our teams across Birmingham. If you have experienced maternal mental health problems yourself we particularly would like you to apply to join our team. Volunteer roles include one-to-one befriending, crèche work, groupwork support, registration, hospitality and administration. Full training is provided enabling you to work with our service users who are suffering with PND/anxiety. Our Acacia training is fully endorsed by the Open College Network - a national awarding body. We are particularly looking for creche volunteers at the moment. This is a critically important role. We provide free creche for our mums so that they are able to have some peace and quiet whilst they access befriending. We are also looking for volunteers who are happy to provide language support as an interpreter for our mums. If you are interested and would like to find out more about this invaluable service then we would love to hear from you. Please contact Sue Warburton on 0121 301 5990 or email: volunteering@acacia.org.uk, or download a volunteer's pack below. Data Protection Your information is important to us. VACANCIES: TRUSTEE ROLES (VOLUNTARY)
Do you have the talents or passion to make a really positive impact within the community? Make a difference by becoming a Board Member of Acacia Family Support. If you are passionate about improving support for families affected by antenatal and postnatal depression we would very much like to hear from you. Could you help our organisation grow and succeed by providing Christian based support and witness together with great leadership and governance? We encourage people from all sections of our community to apply for these roles. We particularly welcome Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic applicants alongside younger applicants because these groups are currently under-represented in our workforce. Our vision: Acacia aims to improve the lives of mothers and families affected by antenatal and postnatal depression. We do this by providing a range of community based support services across Birmingham. We offer families hope, healing and reassurance. We are looking to recruit new Trustees at Acacia who can help to steer the organisation as we maintain and expand our much needed support services. The ideal candidates will be able to bring skills and experience that help us to manage our charity efficiently and effectively. If this sounds like the sort of charity you would like to be part of, please download our Trustee job spec and application forms (links below) and email to Chair@acacia.org.uk. If you wish to have an informal chat about the role please contact Acacia's Chair of the Board, Georgina Dean Georginaldean@gmail.com or contact the Acacia office 0121 301 5990.
