Lend us a hand
Would you
like to help create a place of hope for mothers and partners affected by pre
and postnatal depression and anxiety?
Acacia is looking for passionate volunteers across Birmingham to be part of our vital work and by joining us you’ll find purpose, connection, and fulfilment.
"Acacia is a great organisation to work for. They are caring to volunteers and service users as well as staff members. They are friendly, professional and have a deep sense of commitment for the community. I feel part of a family and very much enjoy volunteering with them."
Our incredible team is truly special - we were honoured with the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service in 2020, the highest award a charity can receive and is equivalent to an MBE!
One of the things that makes Acacia unique is that most of our staff and volunteers have experienced maternal mental health or other mental health problems. This helps us to better understand how parents are feeling, to come alongside them and offer hope for the future. You can support families at our Centres in the North and South of Birmingham, our office in Sutton Coldfield, or by joining home visits for our Young Parents and Helping Hands at Home services.
We have opportunities to get involved in the following areas and we provide full training, nationally endorsed by the AIM Qualifications and Assessment Group, so you’ll feel supported and confident every step of the way
- Befriending

- Creche

Thank you for considering volunteering with us! We offer a warm, supportive environment where you can truly make a difference. In 2022 we were honored with the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service - plus a trip to the palace! If you’d like to find out more, we’d love to hear from you." – Hannah, Volunteer Co-ordinator.
